On January 24th, my blog baby turned 1 year old. It happened before I knew it, crunched between a hair cut appointment and paying my credit card bill. And now, face to face with March, I am finally taking a minute to write about it.
I created this space to practice my writing, improve my photography (GOD WILLING), engage in a hobby, but mostly just to talk about food and whatever else I felt like taking about (hence, a food-ISH blog). I have definitely done all of these fine things, and wish I was doing them here more often, but life has been out there that needed to be lived and I can’t always be here as frequently as I want (hence, a blog birthday celebration nearly two months late. Also I have said hence twice in this paragraph so far. Hence. THREE!).
I looked back through the posts that have accumulated here over the course of a year (and two months) and just felt so happy. The writing isn’t always great, the pictures are mostly from my phone, but I love how this hobby has let me discuss food and life with others, in many different ways.
I explored my mixed feelings while living in and eventually leaving my first kitchen
I made a strong case for Taco THURSDAYS. Yes, you heard!
I opened up about what it really looks like to be “doing it all”
I am excited for what another year on this blog and in real life will look like. Happy birthday little blog. You are sort of an expen$ive annual cost to keep alive, but I love you anyway.
